That place is wierd.
I have an Aetna insurance. It pays 90% of negotiated price for services from in-network providers (I am responsible for 10% of the negotiated charge) and 70% of original price if services were given in out-of-network facility.
So these guys (25 Morris ave, Springfield) are in Aetna network. However if you need endoscopy procedure, they will send you to their facility, Gastro Surgicenter, which is out-of-network... without even notifying you. Then you will get a bill with your responsibility 30% for their ridiculously expensive services from out-of-network facility... When you call them back to ask what's the f... , they ask you to send them the bill and promise you to adjust the price. Then you will get a new "adjusted" bill with 10% of your responsibility. However if they were an in-network provider, I would be responsible for 10% of NEGOTIATED price, NOT the ORIGINAL RIDICULOUS one. When I explained it to them, they said... well if you are not gonna pay it we will put it on your credit history...
The trick here is actually that 70% of original price is actually much much higher than 90% of negotiated price. That is why they do this.
Very disappointed, never came back to him.
